Quote of the Week
“The primitive church thought more about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ than about death or about heaven. The early Christians were looking not for a cleft in the ground called a grave but for a cleavage in the sky called Glory. They were watching not for the undertaker but for the uppertaker.” —Alexander Maclaren (Scottish Baptist Minister and Writer, 1826–1910)

GriefShare, beginning August 1
"I learned that others are struggling, too.
I am not alone." —Participant in the GriefShare program. For 25 years, GriefShare has offered comfort to those experiencing loss, using biblical wisdom to help people cope with and heal from grief. The process of grieving is a lengthy one, and it is one we are not called to endure alone. This is why Christ’s Church is offering GriefShare, a 13-week video and discussion-based program led by Director Dan Brewer, Director of Biblical Counseling, for those grieving the loss of a loved one. GriefShare takes place every Thursday starting August 1, from 6–8pm (cost is $25, to be paid at the door). Register and read more on The Loop.

All-Church Picnic, August 4
It's almost time for one of the best days of the year for our church family! Our annual church picnic is Aug. 4, (arrive at 3:30pm, we’ll eat at 4) at the Game Farm Park in Auburn. The Fusion Mission Teams will be facilitating and serving. We will be collaborating on the food, so check out the list for what to bring. Consider an entry in the cupcake contest. Come join your church family for a day of fun, food, fellowship, and games. Check out The Loop to find details.

Women's Hospitality Meeting, August 4
NEW…Women’s Hospitality and Event Team. Ladies, as we prepare food and set tables for those we love, we are serving Jesus. Others will see their Savior as we practice hospitality God’s way and for His glory. Would you consider blessing others by offering your time and gifts to make events together beautiful, cozy, and welcoming? Join us on Sunday, August 4th during 1st service for a brief meeting if you would like to serve with the Women's Events and Hospitality Team. Contact Lindsay at Lindsayo@ccfw.org for more info or sign up on The Loop.

Middle School Wild Waves, August 12
Middle Schoolers: Ready to rock 'n roll, in the waves that is, at Wild Waves Water and Theme Park. School's out, so let's get together for some fun. Meet August 12 at 9am in the Ministry Center. We will return to church about 5pm. Be sure to bring sunscreen, sandals, your swimsuit, and lunch if you don't want to buy it there. Cost is $37. Save your spot on The Loop

Family Conference: Biblical Foundations for Discipleship, August 23-24
Whether single, married, childless, empty nesters, grandparents, or families with kids in the home, we all "parent" at some time. We are a body, all part of one another, and we help each other through different stages of life. Parenting choices affect the adult a child is becoming. How can you help a child, regardless of the title you may have in the child’s life, cultivate a heart that points them to their Creator and Redeemer so that they might choose Him over any other "god"? We are all prodigal children and we can explore together what it means to bring God glory as His children. Commit to attending our Family Conference: Biblical Foundations for Discipleship, Aug 23–24 with guest speakers Brent and Janet Aucoin of Faith Church, Lafayette, Indiana. (Cost is $10.)
