In God’s world, dictates that He proclaims and drives He uses to motivate His people matter because He only declares and designs the best way to live. He expects obedience and honorable motives in living out the life He provides, but we are born anti-authoritarian and want to primarily please ourselves. Salvation radically changes our hearts, so we no longer live for ourselves, but for the Lord who died and rose again on our behalf (2 Cor. 5:15).
