God is our Creator and His design is always the best for our lives and others. When it comes to men and women, God has created them equal in worth and significance, but designed them to live different and distinct roles in marriage and the church for the good of humanity and the glory of God.  It is a testimony to our fallenness that we have distorted the good design of the distinct roles of men and women in marriage, the church, and society. This has reaped negative and destructive consequences. God-ordained roles of men and women matter because the glory of God matters, and God-assigned roles of men and women matter because the design of God matters. Paul shares four key elements that outline the noble calling and role of women in the church that was being undermined by the influence of false teachers in the church.
