Paul pens his last letter and final words to Timothy as he faces and awaits execution by Nero. In it, Paul instructs Timothy to safeguard the gospel truth (1:12-14: “retain the standard of sound words…guard…the treasure”) as a “good soldier of Christ Jesus” (2:3).
